kind of a specific question, but has anyone switched from linking their IPOD to the BOSE through a cassete adapter and subsequently a direct link like th PIA-NIS or similar

im running through the cassette right now and honestly it doesnt bother me that much and i like to listen to my music LOUD which for some reason between the IPOD and the adapter has the capability to get considerably louder than a CD or radio.

will a direct link make the sound quality/loudness much better? I dont have the loot to plunk down on a new system or anything, but im driving an hour to work each way so i could spare a little if the sound will be alot better.
