Found some more info on Pioneers new units for 2007.

The D-3 will have a direct ipod connect so all functions on your Ipod are transferred to the D3. It will play pod casts and videos. It only has one slot for DVD/ cd but the good news is that it will memorize a selected route and you can still play a dvd. Also has BT. The direct connect just requires a cable instead of the adapter. Cost is around 1000.00 which is great.

The Z2 has updated nav with area icons on its map--buildings etc. on 3d.
not much else kinda disapointed that it doesn't have the direct connect like the D3. Sounds like I will sell my AVN 5435 and get the D3.

I believe the z2 is just going to be update software so all z1's should be able to upgrade to make them z2's
