Default Door speaker wiring

Quick ? for you people that wired your own door speakers. How did you get the wiring through the door jam? I looked at it and the only way (other than drilling your own hole) would be to wire it through that harness. So, how did you guys go about doing this?

I think I've seen a few pic of where guys have just drilled a small whole through the right side of the clip/harness since there are no wires or plugs on that and just ran the new wire directly through?

but it maybe something else I'm thinking about for that, so not 100% sure! none the less I would like to know what some of you have done also since I'm just about ready to start my install!

There is enough room in the factory plug to make a hole. I wouldnt suggest using a drill because its hard to control, and could damage factory wires. I was able to get 2-12ga speaker wires through mine. I used a dremel, and it was easy as pie.

Also, one other thing, since i will probably be using the stock wiring harness, what are the color codes inside the door? Same for pass and driver? I just need the main supply lead, not after the split. I am using a set of alpine Type-R components for the front and co-ax for the rear. Thanks for the help!

I had to take out the inside panel and drill (.5 inch) since my speaker wires are 8 guage . I did not drill any where near the wiring harness. FYI, there are two walls, one on the inside and one on the outside (outside one already has a rectangular hole about half a inch next the to wiring harness; take the little rubber off), I just drilled the inside one.

If you don't want to drill, go from the speaker in. Remove the little rubber piece next the the wiring harness (outer wall) and you should see a little rectangle hole, stick your wire through to the inside and you can grab it fromt the inside. Do the same on the left door. Left door is easier.
