hey whats up guys.

i'm really lookin to put a carputer in the Z. i hear people saying that they have pc's laying around in their house. does that mean they can use them for their car? cuz i have a few around here too?

and theyre obviously talking about laptops right?

im totally confused about electronics with the Z. i just got it a month ago and it has nothing in it. pricing isnt a big deal for me right now so im just lookin for what id need exactly to get my car running with a pc. thanks dudes

 

Theres a number of people building their own out of parts from old PCs. There are also single DIN carputers out there too. Keep reading because there are a number of people here who have modded the Z with a carputer already. every single one has been slightly different.
are you wanting it more for music, internet, gps nav, or ??
Some people think its a waste of money, but I just got mine in but havent drove around yet. Im still covering some obstacles.

 

w.e dude, internet and gps i guess. i mean, if you have a fast amount of memory in the pc, shouldnt it be able to run all the programs ok? so is there really a choice id have to choose from?

and its basically a real pc? if i wanted gps, would i go to mapquest or some ****? or does it have a real gps? and for music, would i just run windows media and it just go through the speakers in the car? would that even be good quality sound?

 

Joe two guys that can help you are Hypersprite and Leemik, both have carputers. Oh and it takes more then just taking a computer that's lying around in your house and putting it into the car. Oh and think of it this way, carputers are only limited to what you can think of

 

I think if you are computer and tech saavy, you can get it all done and maintain it.
