Default Question about Ipods-Can your own movies--not home movies be imported to the Ipod?

I want to have some movies placed on the ipod for car use but I am not sure if Quicktime pro will let you do it. Anyone know before I blow 30.00 for nothing? (Movies like AVP, etc.)

Quicktime won't work. You will need some software to convert the movie to ipod format (mp4 i think). Spend the 30 bucks here!

Thanks! This will be nice because I will probably get a new computer so it will be cool to have a software disc.

I am seriously considering it. I am tired of having issues with Windows. I will probaly get a laptop since now we are converting the computer room to a baby room!

There are so many software options for iPod these days, just going through the list can give you a headache. I've used Slysoft's mobile version to get some ripped DVDs onto iPod, but there are way too many other titles, including freeware. The package linked above looks good as well.
