My battery is not holding a charge, and need a new one. Im thinking about this size, but wanted to get opions, is this too large of CCA for the car? Im going with this brand because the company is down the street from me and easy to obtain. Ill be getting a battery at lunch time.

I've had nothing but good luck with the Exide Orbital battery. In my opinion, it is a better battery than the Optima and it can usually be found a little cheaper.

Update,,, I got the PC1200 and just finished installing the mounts. This one is nice it fits the stock location nicely, except the mounting bolts, just need to be shorter.

At 1600 watts you're pulling +120 amps from your battery - figure a big one will last about 30-40 minutes and still be able to possibly start the car. My home's USP has 106 lb gas absorbed mat batteries rated at 260 amp hours which would drive that 1600 watt system for about two hours. The alternator of the Z will barely keep up with a 120 amp demand and don't dare drive with the headlights on too.
Ever wonder why at the car shows they've got huge 12 VDC power supplies under them plugged into AC current?

Thanks for the posts guys.
The new battery is doing great so far. Before my stock battery and alt. have been handling the my audio system nicely. Its more closer to 1300 watts max. My sub is the one that is using the most power with a alpine 1005 amp. I have one 4ch amp and planing to add another 2ch in the future to run my front stage tweeters.

Z1truth, how much was the Alt you got? did you install it or someone else? Just asking for future info, in case something ever did happen to my alt. Thanks

Were you using the Yellow or Red Top batteries? I had a red top battery and it died on me in just under a year. When I bought it, it didnt have a book with it. When I traded it in under warranty, the new one had a book. I looked into it, and apparently the Red Top batteries suck for car audio, and they even go so far as to tell you that using it in a car with an aftermarket car audio system will void the warranty on the battery.
