tonight i got very bored, so i decided to hardwire my radar detector, ****, i should have done this the day i got my car. the complete install only took about 30 min, and was very easy, the hardest thing to do was to get the possitive and ground clams on the wires for the light.
first pic is of removing the light cover.
second is of removing the door/off cover for the light switch
third is of removing the entire light assembly
fourth is of hooking up the possitive and ground for the radar detector
fith is of the radar detector completely done,
and last is sixth, completed install,

basically cut in the radar wire, find he positive and the grond wires. take the positive wire and tap into the red wire for the overhead lights, and the ground wire , tap into the black wire of the overhed lights, thtas about it, runt he wire from behind the rear view mirror to the lights overhead, and you're done
would a vector 985 come with a wire besides the curly one that plugs into the cigarette lighter that would be better fitted to hardwiring?
i thought that they came with a straight wire. i was jus making sure.
