If you dont get one of the few that have dual cd drives (one for the navi disk) or the ones with the hard drive, then you end up having to buy the external navi unit also which is costly (around 800-1k extra) and it also takes up more space in your vehicle. If navi is important to you then i'd recommend one of the head units that does everything out the box. Suggestions include the Pioneer Z1 (which i have and love), the Eclipse AVN5495, or AVN 6610.

Some other good choices would be AVN5500 and the Pioneer AVIC D-3, which are both on sale right now at sounddomain for around 1k.

You can search all these products on price grabber for prices.

I'm sure others can chime in with their suggestions also.

I just had the Eclipse 6610 put in last week with the Ipod Adapter running into the cubby hole in the dash, and Bluetooth capabilities.

Unfortunately, they used a 2005 kit instead of a 2007 kit to put it in the dash, so its not as flush as it should be.

Once I have it fixed tomorrow, I'll try and post some pics...

Kenwood DDX6019
This comes with an external navi unit which could easily be installed under a seat. I mounted mine in one of the pockets behind the seats.

I LOVE the Navigation feature.

Kit available from Crutchfield for $1200. The picture in the Crutchfield listing distorts the size of the external navi unit. It's about 4" X 4" and about 1" high.

Pioneer headunit I brought back with me from Japan - CD / MP3 / MiniDisk / WMA . . . sounds great, and NOBODY else has it! (at least that I've ever come across).

^^ I believe the DX7100 requires the KNA-G510 in order to utilize the navigation function....

nope. dnx7100 has built-in nav. no add on needed, unless you want real-traffic information which is an xm radio add on.
