Default adjusting jl 500/1

hey guys i got my system in and my subs finally broken in and sounding better. My question is everytime i put a system in my car it starts out loud then gets quiet as it breaks in. I took it to the shop last time and they adjusted the amp and had it pounding like never before. how do i adjust the amp what **** to turn etc. to turn the bass up a bit thanks.

adjust the gain and make sure the filter is on LP. what kind of subs and amp?

its a jl w6v2 10" and a jl 500/1 amp sorry im just very newb when it comes to audio so i just dont wanna turn the wrong *** and blow my sub or somethin

aight nevermind i figured it out there was a switch i had to turn on called bass eq thanks for the reply.
