Now that you changed the HU. Does the volume bottoms on the wheel work? I'm getting a touring and want to change the Bose system but I don't wan't to have those bottoms on the wheel not working properly or at all!

I'm a little confused. Do you mean volume buttons (controls) on the steering wheel? If so, no model of the Z offers these. The G35c has volume controls on the steering wheel, but the Z does not.

If you're just going to change out the stereo, can I recommend buying a Performance model and putting in dealer installed leather. I really wish I had gone this way, but having been a pre-order, I had no idea how bad the Bose would be. Unless of course you can't live without heated/ower seats and seeing as your from Miami, heated seats probably aren't a big deal.

 

Where did you get the Head Unit and How much was it?

hey awesome setup! I have the same components I will be installing except for the HU so far. Where is the amp located? And did you just splice the inputs/outputs back together to go around it? Thanks for your help!
p.s. Tore the car apart last night and removed the stock sub. Sounds about the same!!!!!!!

 

Thanks. The main amp is located under the foam piece to the left of the spare tire. It's a bit of a pain to get to since you have to remove some of the interior panels around it. I spliced the input and output wires at the amp to bypass it.

I want to run a pair of infinity 6000cs in the front off this same unit. The rms power for the speakers is 90 watts. Do you or anyone else think running these speakers with not amp will be a problem?

 

I don't know Sheeeat about that stuff all I know is my "upgraded" system sucks and I want to gut it. Let me know how they work!

 

The Infinity's I am running are rated at 70 watts with a sensitivity of 90dB and they are plenty loud. I think you should be ok since the 6000cs has a higher sensitivity rating.

 

By the way, a member over at 350zfrenzy is selling a couple pairs of Perfect 6.1's for $200 OBO.

Frank I rememeber you posted the wire color list at the head unit. I was able to locate all wires except those for the rear left speaker, there was no lavender with black strip or white with black stripe. Any ideas? Am I missing something? Everything works except that speaker. Thanks.

 

The service manual is showing BR for + and B/R for - at the HU for the rear left.

Those are the colors at the Bose amp in the rear, not at the HU.
