Hey guys, I need some help. I tried lookin at other posts that people made about the alarms and I couldn't really find anything regarding my problem. For some reason, the alarm on my Z continuously goes off like every 10-15 minutes. It's done this like a couple months ago all day long, and then stopped ... and it started to do it yesterday and today. I tried checking to see what the problem was, and yesterday i opened the trunk and a plastic bag was caught between the hook and the latch, so I'm assuming that was the problem, and after i took the bag out, it stopped. But then today, it went off about 6 times already and I checked again, all windows were up, nothing caught in the hatch, hood is down ... I can't seem to find out what the problem is. Anyone having the same troubles? Any help?
Chris (exhausted from turning alarm off and pressing the car lock button)
UGH! WTF. it juss went off again ... PLEASE. help

Yes, my alarm is stock alarm, and when you guys say hood pins, do you mean my hood pins for my carbon fiber hood? It's stopped for the rest of the day, but I'm just dreading to see if it will go off tomorrow ... =/

stock alarms dont normally go off by them self so im guessin there's something fualty with yours... i'd take it to the dealer or ask them about it and see what they say

No, the hood pin that the hood pushes down to tell the alarm that the hood is closed. It is an electronic switch (it has wires going to it). It seems that most of the people that have this problem have aftermarket hoods.

I have the same issue when locking the car with the remote on my first Z.
If I lock the doors manually it does not go off.
I noticed the roadsters do not have the hood switch.
