Navigation Face Plate
I ordered the brackets for the stock navigation system for use when I end up installing my Alpine Nav this weekend. Do any of you know where I can get a faceplate as well? I asked at the parts department at the dealership, but those guys are just about clueless. Does the faceplate come with the brackets or must it be ordered separately?
Thanks!
Thanks!
It is ordered separately and is difficult to find in the computer system. For some reason, it's listed under "escutcheon" which per quick internet search, is defined as "A marking upon the back of a cow's udder and the space above it (the perineum), formed by the hair growing upward or outward instead of downward. It is esteemed an index of milking qualities."
Or more appropriately in this case, as "A thin metal plate or shield to protect wood, or for ornament, as the shield around a keyhole." In terms of the Z, a thin plastic plate around a nav system. I'm sorry I don't have the parts number, but this should help. I'll look through the car to see if I have it anywhere, or I can try to pop one of my faceplates off.
