Not everyone acts like they are Fernando Alonso every time they get behind the wheel of a sports car and if you do then your a turd. There are way more opportunities to enjoy a good stereo system than there are opportunities to enjoy the "sports car" characteristics of your Z on a daily basis.

To the OP: Yes the stock stereo sucks.

agree with kwame. I love to blast my music on the highway and witha good set of speakers it just makes it that much better. When i come to a red light i turn it down a little just for the other cars but once i take off again its up up and away

I usually don't blast my music for the consideration of people around me. When I am in a bad mood, I will crank it but it doesn't sound like crap and it is far from the stock gear

+1 for enjoying good quality audio in a car -- ANY car can benefit from an audio upgrade.
