Default Programming garage opener w/o a remote

I recently moved into a house with some friends and no one has seen either garage door opener in a long time. I tried programming my mirror buttons w/ the "learn" button on the garage door opener itself with no luck. Is this possible or do I need to get a universal remote, program it, then use that to do my door?

You need to follow the instructions very closely. You also need to determine what type of opener system you have as well since the instructions are different depending on type.

No, you cannot do this without the remote. So if you don't have one, you'll have to go buy a replacement one, program it then trying programming your mirror.
