Default Bumper Cameras for the Z

I had a few comments about people liking the cameras in my Z. Living in Japan for so long they are a normal thing for me, but apparently they have not really made their way to the US yet.

The cameras are used to show the driver the on-coming traffic from both the left and right sides when at an intersection where the driver can't see down the road unless he/she moves forward. (Common in Japan.) The cameras allow you to see without risking getting creamed by having to roll your car out. It is the same concept as the rear view camera, just for the front left and right.

Here is a picture: http://www.yokohamaz.net/images/IMG_0135.JPG

Well, if anyone wants me to look into helping you get a set, PM me and I will check to see if I can get it for you. As a factory option they cost me around $1500, but I have no idea about after market solutions. I will be looking later this week when I head to the auto parts store. The factory kit includes front left, front right, and rear view. On my Japanese Z they plug into the navigation system. I'm not sure what you have available on the US 350Z. In short, it is just a video feed.

Anyway, if anyone is interested and has plenty of money to blow, let me know and I will help you get a set. From there we can let everyone else on the forum that may be interested know if it will work on the US model.

Do the Z's come with these factory in Japan? They are nice but quite expensive for something I don't think I would use too often here at least.

he's just posting it because he's probably gotten a lot of good feedback about it. they do looks real good but probably wouldn't serve as much of a purpose in most of the US

Correct, not very practical in the US due to the larger streets. Some people just liked them so I figured I would offer to help someone get a set if they liked them.

Yes, it is a factory option, but not standard.

Not yet as I don't get the car until saturday. I will post pictures of the display with the cameras in use then. It is basically a split screen with the left and right views on the navi screen.

I think they would be great for the rear bumper. With the blind spot I can't see anything backing out of a parking space.
