Default Audio experts - please help!

Hi All,

I'm currently planning on doing the following things to upgrade my audio system:
1) keep stock HU
2) replace front speakers w/ Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 6.5"
3) add Alpine MRV-F450 5/4/3 Channel Power Amplifier (to power both front speakers and sub
4) not going to replace rear speakers and not going to run power to them
5) add a sub

I don't care much for the rear speakers and don't have the budget to replace them either... and I believe with good front speakers and sub I can get pretty good sound stage anyway.

Can anyone recommend a good sub that can be fit into the stock location? (Do the Infinity Kappa Perfect 10's or JL 10w3's fit??).

Any other recommendations on the things I'm planning on doing?

Lastly, how much is a reasonable price to pay for the installation?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!
Jason

In particular, since the amp is the most expensive part of what I listed above, is there a good multi-channel amp that's a cheaper alternative?

There are a number of 5 channel amps that will work nicely such as the MTX THUNDER 4405 (<$300) or the amp you suggested.

For the sub, choose a free-air (Infinite Baffle) model if you are going to place it in the stock location (i.e. INFINITY KAPPA PERFECT 10" SUB 10.1 or the KICKER C10 COMP 10").

Good luck

A lot of people will snicker and point their finger at this suggestion, but I've had one of these amps in my 3000GT for over a year, and it really packs a clean punch.

I'm running a 10" solobaric off it, and it really rumbles.

Boss Audio R935 1200W 5 channel amp with built in crossovers.

http://www.bossaudio.com/products/amplifier_riot.htm

Has seperate RCA inputs for front rear and sub, adjustable remote bass control, 2 ohm stable . . . and all for $139 online.
