Default bose/navi

is it true that the oem navi in my 2004 roadster is hooked up with the stock radio? are they contingent on each other to work? i went into a circuit city the other day to installa bluetooth adapter to the stock radio and the tech guy said that the stock radio and navi has a fiber optic data cable that works together; in order to install the bluetooth adapter, we would need an aftermarket radio that would disable the navi, and therefore i would need a new navi too. just wanted to know, since im planning on purchasing an aftermarket radio and did not want to jeopardize the navi and bose. please let me know. thanks.

you can make an aftermarket radio work with the bose, u just need the right adapter...otherwise it'll sound like garbage.

You can also make the nav work, search around and you'll find the many threads...it also requires some adapter.

Also, DON'T get it done at circuit city...either pay alot to get it done at a better place devoted to car audio or find some1 in the forum to help you...or read DIYs
