Default pioneer navi unit. please help

This is the unit I have been wanting for a while. It is everything I want in audio. Touchscreen, navi, dvd, mp3, and I am going to get the Ipod adapter. They said I can only put it where my stock bose is (03 touring). I really wanted a unit in the top because I am worried about it getting stolen. So is this really my only option? If so, I think its a great price and its one of their best units for the money. Thanks.

he said the bose would be useless if i installed it in the cubby hole too. But I don't have tint on my car and I really don't want it. I am worried it will be stolen.

Another thing, is there anyway possible to play the dvd WHILE listening to music at the same time? Like no sound from the movie, but music on from a cd? I think its pretty cool to cruise around with the dvd while listening to some music. I know that sounds crazy. Everyone who I talked with says it can't be done.

It would not be worth the cost to place it in the upper cubby hole. I am sure you could splice wires to make both the bose and the avic work, but there would be no function in that, and could possibly mar something up. negative on the 2 at once.

Mikie92102,,,it would take a major undertaking to install the D3 in the upper cubby. The depth would become a major issue,,not to mention many, many other things. Also,,,just FYI,,,you can get the Pioneer D3 on www.woofersect.com for $749, and onsale at www.sonicelectronics.com for $719. If you get a chance,,take a snap shot when you get everything installed. I would love to see your set up...Good luck..

lsmith9523...thanks for the links! I'll check them out right away. Anything to save some money is fine by me. Oh, and I think I am going to have it professionally installed. I have done car audio before, but not as involved as this. I'll let you know how it turns out if I do it. Thanks!

Mike, I got the Pioneer your looking at installed friday, first off I love it, you wont be disappointed with it, I too wanted it mounted up in the cubby hole but he said it would just as much as the actual Nav/DVD unit to custom place it up in the cubby hole, I got him to throw in the Ipod adaptor for free and a few "other" things, and I paid $1400 out the door, i'm very happy with it. You can also keep your bose as the guy threw in the bypass for the bose for free too, and it makes the speakers sound a million times better with this head unit
