The wiring kit is like 10-15$ and the dash kit like 20$. I'd get metra. geard some horror stories about other kits not fitting right etc.

Metra is a brand of dash kit. Many prefer it over the Skoshe brand. What you got should work fine.

Go to circuit city, they have these things called "Smart Cables". They got a nissan to a universal harness, and they should have an Alpine to universal. Just plug one side into the car, one into the HU, then connect the two universals together. No Cutting, Splicing, or soldering needed. They also carry both double din and single din metra dash kits for the Z.
