Smile Calling all audio gurues, I need your help for a setup!

Hey guys, once again I need some insight from people with knowledge more then me about audio setups.

I would like some recomendations for a 1 amp 3x 10" speaker setup.
the speakers will be run in series.

try to keep it around 300-400 bucks, brand dont matter to me. I would like the speakers and amp to match and be able to hold the Ohms / loads and not blow.

I'm having a hard time finding the proper speakers that can run on a mono or bridged amp properly.

Thanks ahead of time!

So you want three 10" subs run by 1 amp? And you want the amp and the subs to be the same brand? What power level are you desiring?

EDIT:
Also, why do they have to be run in series? This is going to be almost impossible to pick an optimal setup. Or do you just mean that they will be daisy-chained? You will need to run some in series and some in parallel in order to make this work properly.

i am not going to litter this thread with my thoughts an opinions.. but i am curious..

what is your goal here with 3 10's?

Show? SPL? or SQL?

if its to say yeah i have 3 tens then i would say ok go ahead..

if its SQ then you can get 1 12" or 2 10" that will do that..

if its SPL a 10" is the wrong way to go.. just go for a 15"

well, three subs can hooked up to a mono amp. That's what i would do. I guess you can look for three 50 dollar subs and then looking for either a 150-200 dollar amp.

Well, lets just say you bought three single 2ohm v/c subs. if you wired all 3 in series it would give you a 6ohm load......the amp you pick will need to put out a lot of watts at 6ohms to power the setup. instead you would wire 2 of the subs in parallel and the 1 in series to give you approximately a 1.5ohm load. it is a lot easier to find an amp that will output 1000 watts at 1.5 ohms than to find an amp that outputs 1000 watts at 6ohms.

you can get three of these subs.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ROCKFORD-NEW-P11...QQcmdZViewItem

and get this amphttp://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ROCKFORD-FOSGATE-P600-1BD-1800-WATT-MONO-AMPLIFIER_W0QQitemZ180203268892QQihZ008QQcategoryZ64570QQssP ageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

total would be around 340 dollars. They are matching brand, they are really decent brand and actually would sound pretty good.

but that was just a reference. Look back at the ohms on the subs and amp and make sure it will work. good luck.

GOOD FIND!!!

You could get the three 4ohm subs (2 in parallel, 1 in series) down to 3ohms. That amp would put out approx 462 total rms watts at 3ohms. This setup might work out pretty well.

shouldn't affect it.. what you really need to do is find an amp that will drive them stable
