I live on the East Coast but both AVIC-D3 nav CD's say im in LA???
Hi everyone, i just installed my lovely Pioneer Avic-D3 and have read the whole manual practically and still only understand .003% of this headunits capability lolol but the two CD's that came with the headunit (east+west coast) dont seem to be reading correctly. I first installed the East (took 10 mins to actually find the small lettering on the CD
) and installed it but when it was done loading it said i was in Las Angeles, CA?? then thinking the cd's were miss-marked i put the other one in and it still claimed i was in LA when in fact im in ME aproximetly 2567miles away from LA...(shortest distence
) so i followed the helpful AVIC-D3 install write-up which helped A LOT!!! and did everything one step at a time but the nav still wont read that im in maine...
and also what is the easiest way to download wallpapers? through the I-pod correct?
Thanks Guys!

Reset the unit again. That should fix the location problem. I disconnected the battery, when I installed my plenum spacer, and when I reconnected power, my D2 said I was in Manhattan, when I'm in Raeford, NC. Once I reset it, it worked fine.
Wallpapers... I'm not sure about, as the D2 doesn't support that. Check out www.avic411.com They will have a lot of useful information for you.

thanks for the help, its funny how resetting the power changes a lot of things, i have a crawford plenum and everytime i disconnect the battery the engine seems to change everytime (idleing/performance etc) but oh well...
yea ill give that a shot and see if it works but thanks again for the input

Ya man i just bought and installed a avic-d3 myself...man what a system for only $800 -- and i got remote, bluetooth, and ipod adaptor free. Ya i was gonna say as well reset system or disconnect batt should work. Also you can use ANY wallpaper/picture you want--basically ANY picture from a phone, camera, or anywhere on your comp or the internet. All you have to do is find the pic you want--make sure its not too small (cause it will be blocky/blurry on the screen if it is--the bigger the better)--and then save it on your comp IN .JPEG FORM!! this is important, but it should save automatically that way anyway. Then simply use a burning program (I suggest NERO) and burn the JPEG onto a CD-R. After that just throw it in the D3 and go to background settings under 'system' i think. But ya the d3 is GREAT. I just started downloading movies in .DivX (or) .AVI form from torrent sites (free) that are exactly 700mb in size and fit perfectly on a blank CD-R. The d3 plays them perfectly!
