Default image dynamics

i keep reading in posts on here that image dynamics id max subs are great and all. but for someone that doesn't need (and really do not want to spend $400 on) a competition type sub, how are ther other subs (id and idq)? anyone have any experience with them?

ID makes fantastic subs.....period.

ID - All-around/daily driver

IDQ - High SQ

IDMax - High SPL while still keeping descent SQ.

whatever you get just make sure you power it well. I had an idmax before and the rms was 1k (idk what it is now days). i powered it with a rockford amp rated at 888. I thought it might be enough to push the sub to a decent level... I was wrong.

I have two IDMAX 12's and power them with 1200 watts (600 each). They do just fine. Not that more power would be a bad thing.....

ok. i think i'm going to pick up a the id10d4 v.3 and wire it for 2 ohms. will an amp putting out 300 watts in 2ohms be enough in your opinion? specs say 50-400 watts rms.

acutally the new IDQ has a bit of a output as well, its basically like an babay idmax, with a full umm 85 percent at least of the idmax's ouput.

all sound great IMO in their price range.

I know what you mean. Its just that it didn't really live up to the hype for me... or the price... but then again its my fault for not giving it the power it really needed to shine.
