Which Sub
ok so im getting sponsored by Option Audio to show off their equipment but im tossing up between 2 subs
Back ground
Getting 2 subs and 2 amps
both are getting run parellel to provide maximum rms to the subs
the subs im looking at are
pro series - 800wrms (4ohm) DVC
street series - 500wrms (4ohm) DVC
so after the subs are run in parellel they will be at 2 ohm
the amp
820wrms @ 1 ohm
500wrms @ 2 ohm
300wrms @ 4 ohm
So being that either of the 2 subs i choose will be running 500wrms from the amp the question i have is
What will sound better and produce higher db? if i go the pro im under powering it and not running full potential and could loose db as appose to running the street series and running it at full potential.

So you are running 1 amp to each sub? or are these amps strappable?
Get the one that you will push the recommended rms power to (street series). They don't have an amp that puts out 800 rms at 2ohms?
Link to the equipment?

well it looks like thier site is offline at the moment: www.optionaudio.com
the amp is the OAX801
http://optionaudio.com/OAX801.html
and the subs are
http://optionaudio.com/subwoofers_12proseries.html
http://optionaudio.com/subwoofers_12streetseries.html
the amps are bridgable together - they are monoblocks
is if i run the subs parrellel then i will get the 2ohm and if i have the amps bridged then i can run the full 500wrms to each speaker.
Apologies for lack of information and if my logic is wrong

To run at 2 OHMS @ 500W, you would need two amps. So your only choice is to run at 820W withthe woffers wired @ 1 OHM. This would put the street series at their best with proper tuning and you could play loud for longer due to the amp running mor efficiently.
If you are being sponsored by a shop, can't they help you or are they just giving you the equipment?

they are doing the install but i have a choice on what speakers i want - either ones i will have the same amp. Issue is i cant run them at 800wrms @ 1ohm because if i run them in parellel i will only get 2 ohm.
just seeing what will produce a better quality a 800wrms sub will only have 500wrms running to it (as its 2x 4ohm subs in parellel) or the 500wrms sub that will take the full 500wrms from the amps
