There are some major differences that the Kenwood has over the Alpine, and they are listed as follows.
1. Navigation built in (Alpine you must purchase seperate dock)
2. Bluetooth Buillt in (Alpine you must purchase seperate module)

4. 5 Volt Preouts (Alpine only has 2 Volts)

7. As stated above better Ipod Interface, but that is just my opinion.
