Default Keep old subs or buy new?

Hello, I don't know too much about car audio but I do know that I wouldn't mind some extra bump in my trunk.

I used to have a Mustang convertable, and I used to have this box in the trunk: http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/S...d/0/rid/123284 with a 500 Watt RMS MTX amp. I still have the box and the amp, but the box looks stupid in the trunk of the Z. I currently have D3 headunit, with non-bose sound system.

I wanted to get one of these two boxes:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m29
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/350z-...m380023849039&

Now here are my questions:

1. Are the subs any good?

2. Can I use the subs with either of the boxes shown above?

3. I would rather go with 1 10" look, cleaner and give me a little more room in trunk, plus I'm not looking for THAT much bass just a little more. Will my sub sound like crap in the single box?

4. So bottom line will what I have work with either of the boxes, or should I sell the box/subs and get a new sub?

One 10W3v3 will work in that second box if I'm not mistaken (no depth issues). I would run the one sub with the 500 wrms amp you have and call it a day.

I Had A Single 12w3 In My Old Volvo And It Sounded Great.
Zenclosures Has A New Single 10" Box That Will Fit A 10w7, Which I Just Bought, But Havnt Installed Yet. But A 10w3 Running With 500w Should Sound Good.

Buy new subs! I had a custom box made right underneath the space of the rear strut tower brace. It fits one JL 10".

The W3 series from JL are great all-around subs. They don't excel at any one task (SQ or SPL), but will be a good performer in general. Since you already have this sub, it costs you nothing to try it out. 1 of your 10w3v3's in the Zenclosure box would sound great and is a minimal investment by you to start. If you need more after installing it, then come back and tell us what your W3 is lacking in YOUR tastes and we can steer you in the right direction to improving upon the W3. The Zenclosure box will accommodate many different subs. I have a feeling that you will be satisfied with this sub if you install/tune it properly.

So you had a shop custom make a box that already exists by at least 2 vendors that are selling them at really affordable prices? Although shipping to HI might be a killer, huh?
And you tell the OP to buy a new sub, but don't offer any input as to what sub should be purchased, nor do you provide supporting facts/specs as to WHY a new sub should be purchased.

Finally got around to getting the Z-Enclose Box, it came in today. Great Quality, fast shipping and amazing packaging. So far I'm impressed. I get the amp installed Wed. I've done installs before but on shitty old car I didn't care about, this one I'm gona leave to the pros.
