Default Broke screen on pioneer avic Z1

I cracked the screen on my Nav system. Does anyone know how fix these screens.

Pioneer says I have to send the unit to them with $200 and they may or may not be able to fix it for that amount and its non refundable.

Any help would be nice, it would be nice to fix this myself than to give money to pioneer for an uncertain amount.

Usually with that either, A.) Pioneer has a service store, like you can get parts see if you can buy just the screen, or B.) Look around on ebay maybe someone is selling a busted Z1 that you can strip for parts.

go with pioneer, usually, unless you have damaged someting beyond the screen, 200-300 at the mostwould cover it.

I had the same problem when my avh6800dvd's screen was broken during shipping (it has the same screen as the z1/z2) I had to take the whole thing apart to get the part number off the back of the screen and then I entered it into their parts website and found out the screen itself cost $275. If you are REALLY good at taking things apart and putting them back together then you could do it on your own but otherwise I would let pioneer handle it.

I'm sure its just the glass screen, at most the plastic protective cover may be scratched from the broken glass.

i have sent a few pioneer touches when customers killed the screen, usually 2-300 bucks was the cost for repair, you can send it in, and wait for them to call and give you a total, if you dont like it, they will send it back to you for free...
