A few questions before i undertake my new install
What size fuse should i use to run a jl 300/4 and a jl 500/1 on 4g power wire?
Where is a good ground to use in the back between the rear strut bar and rear speakers?
Whats the easiest way to run wires through the the glove box area into the back area?
Anyone know how to retain factory steering wheel controls with a alpine ida-x100 head unit
thanks and please dont flame, ive done several installs but im new to the 350z

As for the fuse rating, on each amp are fuses. each has a rating, just add those up and thats the size of the main in-line fuse. If it's not an actual fuse size (adds to 90 or something) go to the next size up. Personally I don't have a Z, I own a G so I wouldn't know about the wire routing. as for the steering wheel controls. There is an adaptor to work with alpine radios.

Thats the link on crutchfield. Put in your vehicle and radio info to make sure it works. It says Alpine as a blanket statment so it should work.

+1 what they said on fuses.
As for routing power i ran 0 gauge from the battery to the kick panel area of passenger side. U will have to take a few peices of trim out and the mats in the hatch. After u get it to passenger side run it along the edge of the carpet near the door and there is a spot where u can get it under ur glove box area. Take out the bottom of ur glove box and feed it thru a hole in the rear area into the hatch.
As for groud there are plenty of bolts and stuff u can use as a ground in the hatch area. Make sure to grind away (good metal on metal contact) any paint and try to keep the ground within a few feet of the amps.
heres a few crappy pics when i installed my stuff.
Wire down the side.
This is sideways but this is where i went under the glove box toward the hatch area.
Here is how u get the wire from the battery into the foorwell area. There is a huge factory wire going thru this rubber seal. Cut the seal just big enough and feed the wire thu.
While ur in the hatch area do urself a hige favor and put some sound deadining in the hatch area. I used edead from elemental designs (huge debate on what kinds and which brand are the best) Stuff is cheap at a 1$/ft and with 45sq feet u have enough to put 2-3 layers in there.
In this pic u can actually see my groud hanging there and where i attached mine.

Hope this hepls. Rember take ur time and do it right. Dont spare expenses on the little things they add up and can F up a install if done wrong.

^^^^^^^^^^nice 0 awg run sir
i am trying to sway the original poster to 86 the 4 awg his has as a left over from another intsall , and just run a zero
might be overkill for his 2 each JL amps , but it leaves his options open for changes to his system down the road , with out ever having to make a new thicker awg run
