Default Viper 5900 owners, where is your antenna mounted?

I just had my viper 5900 installed and im wondering where you guys mounted your antennas? I wanted to mount it right above the rear view mirror, but the guys at the audio shop that did my install said the dotted tint stuff might get in the way and decrease the range of the antenna. I also read that its best to mount the antenna vertical, but everyones car i see has it mounted horizontal. Im only looking to mount it on the front windshield because my hatch glass has tint. Best suggestions are greatly appreciated. (the guys at the shop just shoved it into my headliner because the didnt know exactly where i wanted it)

Mine is mounted right above the rear view mirror. I have no problems with range.

anyone have pictures of there antenna mounted? Did you guys just put it to one side of the plastic cover that covers the wires for the home link? Or do you guys not have the homelink mirror? Also, i have a valentine v1 mounted onto my rear view mirror, would the radar in any way happen to affect/block range of my alarms antenna or vise versa, would the antenna affect the radar?

The dotted area does not affect the range, stuffing it in the headliner does however. I always mount them at the top of the windshield, or vertically on the passenger side if the the top is not an option.

Mine, top of the windshield behind rear view mirror. The square box is to the left (towards the driver). The right antenna leg goes under the plastic cover for the home link. You can barely tell it is there.

mineis directly centered above the mirror that plastic piece will come right off it just slides under the headliner.. looks better centered imo.. plus that plastic piece always rattles anyway..

Hide it anywhere near glass. Top windsheild, side pillars, back door. Range will be good. I like the side pillar option because its stealth.

i think that comes as a feature with the 5900. The best buy did that to mine where when you turn the car off the car will unlock the doors(delay of like 2 seconds or something) also when i turn the car on they lock(after like 2 seconds)
Here is the manual http://www.directeddealers.com/manua..._05-06post.pdf

Edit: heres the actual install guide http://www.directeddealers.com/manua..._05-06post.pdf
