Everyone has their own preferences and the easiest way to do this is to go find audio shops that have plenty of speakers to listen to and find the ones you like the sound of the best, even better would be to hear it at a meet in the actual application. I ended up with a set of Hertz HSK165's

Alot of how the speakers sound are based on the mounting location.

I prefer Focals to most other brands, but that's just me... Bing likes Seas and DLS, others like DynAudio or Morel, it's all about personal taste.

But in all seriousness a $400 set of speakers is a $400 set of speakers, you probably won't be able to tell a difference in a blind study.

Most of the more expensive sets will need some processing to make them really sing.. but I am by no means an authority.

Forget rear fill. Just run your front stage active. By not spending money on rear speakers that should allow you to buy a much better set of components for the front. Rear speakers are useless in a 350Z.

Rear speakers are useless in alot of vehicles. I've been running components up front in my old tahoe for a while now and won't go another way with it.
