Default help with sub wiring

I have a 10 in sub with dual 4-ohm voicecoils with 600 RMS watts (300 watts per voice coil)(1200 peak) and am wiring it to a 2 channel 800 watt amp(Max Power Output: 1600 watts @ 2 ohms) with these power ratings:
200 watts x 2 chan. @ 4 ohms
400 watts x 2 chan. @ 2 ohms
800 watts x 1 chan. @ 4 ohms Bridged
do i have to wire this @ 8 ohms like this diagram which i believe is wired in a series or can i wire it at a lower ohm like 2 or 4 with no problems? Do i lose anything having it at 8 ohms?

this is how i find that diagram

thanks!

It's a dual 4 ohm sub so you only have two choices. You can wire it in series to run at 8 ohms or you can wire it in parallel to run at 2 ohms. If your amp can run at 2 ohms bridged I'd wire it in parallel if it can't wire it in series. What kind of amp is this anyway?

The amp is not made to be run at 2 ohms bridged from what I can tell so I wouldn't advise it.

wire it at 2ohm mono and see how how it gets. all it should do is overheat and shutdown, assuming it has thermal protection. if it shuts down or gets extremely hot after a short time, rewire back to series at 8ohm. when you can afford it, upgrade to an amp thats optimal at 2 ohm mono although it may put enough power at 8ohm that you'll be happy??
