Thumbs up Excellent 'Warranty-Service' BEL Radar Detector

I shipped my BEL Vector 985 (also have a Passport 8500) to BEL on July 23 due to "volume issues" (audible alert went out but visible worked fine). Just verified thru tracking that it will be here tomorrow with new speaker, antenna, and upgraded software! One of the reasons I went with this particular model is my history with the 8500 (same company: ESCORT & BEL) and all of the tests place the BEL # 1 in 'Ka' detection. And I have to agree! Here in Plano/Dallas, 'Ka' is the radar of choice, and my BEL sniffs em' out without fail from waaaaaaay far away coming or going. Great product and Great service! That's what it's all about. By the way, ALL new BEL detectors come with a "No Hassle" 2 Year Warranty!!!

Key Features:
Digital voice alerts for radar, laser, SWS, and VG2
Separate audio alerts for individual radar types, laser, SWS
FMT technology for better sensitivity
AccuSweep technology for detection of narrow radar bands

360-degree laser detection
manual and automatic muting of audio alerts
radar detector detector alert
Shadow Technology II for invisibility to radar detector detectors
preferred settings retention
city and highway modes
64 digital voice messages
3 brightness levels
tutorial mode
tech mode (identifies specific radar band in use)
anodized aluminum travel case

Similarly, I've had great service from Valentine. They fixed a problem I had for free out of warranty and paid shipping both ways. Unfortunately it took shipping it back twice but it was a freak problem they were having trouble tracking down.

Also, I had to buy some suction cups and some other accessory stuff that had worn out and they dropped shipping and handling even after I agreed to pay it.

TXSTYLE--you like your BEL? I live in the same area, DFW where there is lots of radar and even LASER on 190, etc with those dang camaro cops. want either passport 8500 or vector985 but if what you say is true, 985 sounds like a better deal being better at Ka for this area and cheaper in price (209 on ebay)

p.s. i will be spending a lot of time in austin very soon, any knowledge about BEL performance in that area.

thanks
