Glad we could convince you

Once you get it, be sure and ping me again for info on hardwiring it in your Z.

I definately will.

Talk to me about your stereo setup ...

I put the following equipment into my 1995 Sentra about two months ago ... I had no intentions on buying a new car at the time ... then I saw the Z

Diamond Audio M6.61 components
Hi-Fonics 4 channel 750 Watt amp
Hi-Fonics mono 1000 Watt amo
15" Kicker sub
Sony MD Deck
Sony 10 Disc CD/MP3 changer
Pioneer 8 Band eq w/sub control / crossover / parametric

The system is nice, but I want to transfer the deck, eq, changer, and anything else I can over to the Z. I think the amps are too big and too powerful for the Z. What do you use for amps?

I'm running off the stock deck - I just wanted an inexpensive, simple, stock-looking upgrade.

How do you crossover your sub and get it enough juice without an amp?

Hit search. There is at least one very long thread on Valentine One vs. Escort 8500.

And as for other people not selling the V1: Nobody sells the V1 except for the manufacturer. You go directly to their site to get them.

The Infinity Basslink has a built in amp and crossover...none needed.

How does it sound with those speakers? Are you satisfied with it, or do you wish you had more?

Very satisfied - the stereo sounds markedly better!

Do you know what the wattage rating is of the stock stereo in the Enthusiast?

Supposedly 40x4, but that is probably "peak" - downhill with a good tailwind.

All I know is, it sounds good to me and gets loud enough.

I got the Passport 8500. No complaints. The V1 arrows are cool, but do yo really want to spend the extra $100.00?

I kinda like the whole directional thing. It seems worth it to me.

If the arrows work, which I believe they do, then that $100 is less than the savings of one ticket in most places. Tickets combined with raised insurance rates means driving fast can get very expensive. Is it really worth it to go ghetto on a radar detector instead of just investing in the best one you can get?

My last ticket, when all was said and done, cost me about $375. After that, I bought a $100 detector for my Sentra. It saved me at least twice, but in Utah, I got tagged by a guy clocking me (nicest cop I ever met), and in Wyoming, I got tagged by an "Instant On" radar gun in a Highway Patrol vehicle going in the opposite direction from me ... he got me before I ever saw a car in the horizon ... don't know how that happened. Both of those tickets combine cost me less than $200. So it goes ... EVERYTHING is more expensive in California ... except bad advice of course.

That $100 Cobra detector fried on the dashboard ... it got so hot up here (over 115 some days) that the insides of that thing must have went kaput, because it would often go into fits of Ka false alarm ... I could be sitting in my garage with the doors down, with the car on (not running), and the Ka band would lite up, and stay on forever (well ... 10 minutes). It kept doing that as I would drive (even on roads where no one was around), until I finally unplugged it.

Its time to order the Valentine I think.

msims:

I had the cobra in my 2002 Frontier.. it did save me a few times, but I got popped by a laser, man that was an expensive ticket.

The cobra melted on me as well (I live in palm springs 120+) had a best buy service plan, got another, now I think that one is going out, my next will be a V1 no doubt about it.

When I look at how PPW sparkles in the sun, I'm just amazed.

It seems that the more I drive this car, the more I absolutely love it. Every now and then, I get a teenager drive up to me and give me the biggest grin I have seen in a long time. Happened yesterday on the 210 as a matter of fact.

Nissan did really good on the 350Z ... REALLY good!
