Default Factory Alarm acting very strange..

I've read quite a few posts on the factory alarm malfunctioning but i have'nt found a solution to my problem. the car is a 2003. THe alarm arms and disarms by itself (without the honks) and flashes the orange lights peroidically for no reason and the alarm also lowers both windows at random. does anybody know how to cure this problem or maybe even disable that junk?

sounds like somebody's holding down the unlock button in their pocket...

Here's the only reason I say that...so you don't think I'm purely being a smartass.

When you unlock the car w/ keyfob and don't open a door w/in a minute or so the car will relock itself (without honking, but will flash lights etc.)

When you hold down the unlock button it will lower both windows.

If your certain that you, your g/f / wife / dog / cat / goldfish / little kid / sibling / etc isn't touching the unlock button, either intentionally or unintentionally then I'd do the reset where you go in and erase all the keyfobs that operate the alarm, then reprogram the 1-2 that you use...

I personally would only program in one of the fobs...you could then rule out both of the fobs as the problem if need be.

If both fobs are ruled out as the cause then you might look elsewhere....but for the car do be doing this on its own, randomly is unlikely...possible I guess, but unlikely.

I am aware about the car locking itself again. This will happen when i'm alone with the only key fob untouched. the alarm will arm/disarm itself about twice every few minutes and flash the lights randomly with no pattern at all. you can hear the locks locking and unlocking. It will do it all day. when I go to smoke a cigarette its doing it. it does it before i go to bed. all night too i assume. when i wake up and go in the garage to do something, i'm greeted by lights flashing, arming and disarming and this also continues all day. there are times when it wont do it at all for hours though. I noticed this happening quite a few weeks ago but it was very seldom. i have noticed it get worse and worse and this week is crazy. it happens all day long. I have only one fob and my girl is never home half the time when this happens and i have no pets, and hopefully no ghost. I will reset the fob and see what happens. as i sit here right now on the laptop in the garage typing this, the car has been doing this over and over
