Would someone help me with a Low Pass Filter question...
I have a relatively inexpensive setup.
(Sony X-plod 10inch sub in a Zenclosure and an Sony GTR2002 Xplod amp and an new alpine HU with Ipod connector).
Front speakers are all stock bose.
What do you guys suggest I do with the LPF filter??
From the instructions it reads that if im using the amp for a sub to turn the LPF switch to ON.
Where should I turn the Dial for LPF?? The dial that starts at 50hz and goes up to 300hz (on the amp).
I cant really tell much of a difference yet.
Also there is a Low Boost dial from 0db to +10db.
Any suggestions where to put the LPF dial?
Thanks

I usually set it anywhere around the 70-80 hz zone. Of course it depends on the sub and enclosure too but that is usually a safe bet and will still sound pretty good. Low boost should not exceed 5 db and Gain should not exceed 3/4 turn. Once you start pinning these dials, you start to get distortion and a dirty, muddy sound. Still, experiment a little and see what sounds best.
