I went to my local stereo shop to purchase a Metra dash kit to install a Pioneer acic-f90bt. The shop told i dont need a dash kit because I already have an OEM Bose DIN.

Can someone confirm this?

You need one because the opening for the stock radio is not exactly double-din size. The kit will fill in the small gap that would be around the perimeter of the f90. I have the f900bt in my 07 and I used the metra dash kit number 99-7602. If your z is 06-08 then it is the same part number, if not then you have to get a different one.

 

03-05 350z. you need the part number 99-7402

 

Definately need the kit. If the installer isnt aware of that, I would be a little leary at letting him work on my car.

 

yeh i have an f90 in my 04 and i used the metra kit and there will be a tad bit of a gap but nothing that a lil bit of velcro (used for cosmetic purposes) cant hide
