Im building a 8 cuft enclosure tommorow in a Diamante. Im fiberglassing in the spare tire well. I know this is no 350z, but I can post pics for you to show you how to go about doing so. If your dont want to see it let me know. It will save me the time from posting the pics. The enclosure is for a single 18" Solo X sub. This thing is a beast. It sales for $1299. The port is going to be 10"x10" 17" long. The sub holds 5000 RMS, and 10,000 peak.

I've got an RF 10 HE - I dont even need the HX2 because this thing is loud already. I think the way the trunk is set up on the Z, that bass just bounces off the glass straight to your ears!
I can't believe some of the people that have 3 10" JL's back there! I would go deaf.

It definatley must be my box.
Can you post a picture of your box. My speaker is wired two 2 ohms. It sounds decent but nothing what I expected. My enclosure is .064 cubic feet sealed. here is a picture of mine

Here is a link to the box I am using (for now):
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...=0&cc=01&avf=N
You can get it on circuitcity.com for 50 bucks and free shipping. I have it laying flat in the back part of the trunk.
I would like to get something for the spare-tire well eventually...

I hava an infinity perfect 12" sub in my spare tire well and it sounds great. I built the box out of 3/4 MDF and sealed it really well. Unfortunately, you can only get about 1 cu. ft. of space unless you either use fiber glass (so you get the round shape of the well) or make the box taller than the surrounding floor. You also have to cut off the mount for the spare tire that is in the center of the well.
I don't remember the exact measurements, but it is about 7" tall and 16" X 24"????

First fill your spare w/ packing foam pieces (peanuts). Then put those peanuts in a box. Then measure your box LxWxH. Divide that by 1728, and that will give you your spares airspace in cu. ft. Next lay aluminium foil in the spare tire well. Tape were the foil meets w/ masking tape. Next find out how much airspace is required for your subs. Build a wood square 3/4 MDF or better around your spares well the height needed to get your airspace. Then start your fiberglassing. I like to use matt, and cloth together. When you get desired thickness. I think 1/2 in. but some will say more others will say less. Then put on your top w/ holes for your subs. You can remove the enclosure, and remove the foil if you want, but you dont have too. I usally fiberglass some strips of wood into the bottom of the enclosure so I can run bolts through the spare tire well to hold it in place. Here's what pics I have. My camera batterys were dead the first day so I didnt get any starting pics.

Holy $%^, And I thought my RF Power HX2 (38lbs) was heavy.
What are you pushing that huge beast and what are you hitting DB wise?
For those that have Z's, I was quoted $1000 for a fiberglass enclosure in my tire well that will house (2) Rockford 12" HX2's.
Thoughts on the price? BTW, that doesn't inlcude the speakers, I bought them a few years back.

Its a customers car. He is running a memphis 1000 right now. Were putting in a Memphis Mojo in a couple of weeks 2400 watts. It holds 10,000 watts peak, and 5000 RMS. I have no idea what his SPL is, but its loud for a single sub. My 350z is hitting 141.7, and thats more than I need. I never play it that loud. I would charge $500 for a plain jane spare enclosure for a Z. That would be carpeted, and flushed in. $1000 I would cover it in something nicer than carpet, and make it look very trick. My stores known in my area for top of the line installs at low prices though.
