12v Accessory Wire?
Hey guys,
I'm trying to connect some power supply wires. Here's what I got:
Yellow: 12V Power Supply
Black: Negative (ground)
Green: Lights Operation ( To turn on display when headlights are turned on)
Red: 12V Accessory Power
The last wire is the one in question, the red one. Where would I want to connect this wire? Also, I am mounting these wires in the console area. Where would anybiody suggest the best place to connect them? Fuse box? Radio?
Thanks!!

I've connected the accessory wire to both the radio and fuse box, depending on when you want the wire to be hot. The easiest is getting a fuse-wire adaptor (not sure what it's actually called), and finding a fuse thats only powered when the car's on. The radio will work too, but you would have to splice some wires together, which can be hard to do correctly and if you somehow connected the wrong wire, you could burn up the radio or your accessory. I plugged in an amp accessory wire to the fuse box and it works great
Awesome, so you think I can just buy one of those^? And just plug it into one of the unused slots in the fuse box in the driver's footwell?
What about the plain old 12V Power supply? And I can just ground the negative somewhere right? You guys know the best way to tap the headlights so the display will come on when I turn on the headlights??
Thanks so much@!@@!!!

You can't just tap an unused fuse slot.. well you might if can find one that does what you want (most are just empty slots). You will want to get a multimeter and test the taps on your current fuses for your needs.
For example... if you can find a constant 12v fuse, tap the hotside and run your 12v source wire to it (make sure to get an inline fuse for the rated amperage). The same goes for finding a fuse that may go hot when you turn on your headlights.

Awesome, thanks. And on the power supply wire there is actually an inline fuse that already came with it. SO good deal!!! I guess I'll just need to check out the fuse map on the cover and find out where to connect them in. thanks so much.

i ended up just running the 12 v power with inline fuse right the positive terminal of the battery, grounding the negative wire, tapping the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box in the engine for the accessory, and tapping the left low beam fuse in the fuse box for the illumination wire. Everything works perfect!
