I know that their have been many posts on just the monitor installation. but i was wondering if someone could tell me if it is possible to hook up a monitor, with a PS2 while keeping the stock head unit.

why not? just get a FM mod and you're good to go. The monitor and PS2 has nothing to do with the stock HU. only getting sound out from the PS2 to HU, hence the FM mod.
