Default Proper wiring method for Wicked CAS Box

I have the wicked CAS understrut box that holds 3 - 10" subs. I am using JL Audio 10w6v2 subs in my setup and have two questions:

1. What is the proper wiring method? Do I run individual wires from the connection terminal on the box to each sub or do I daisy chain them together in some form?

2. What amp is required to properly power this box? I have a JL 500/1, is that enough, or do I need more?

Thanks for any help in this matter.

You probably want to wire them like this:
(just replace the amp in the diagram with the terminal inside your box)

This will give you a final load of 2.67 ohms.

I'm thinking that the 500/1 amp will not be enough for these three speakers (look at THIS LINK on JL's website). Using your amp, you will be pushing about 170W to each speaker, which is above the minimum requirement, but it is nowhere near the optimum power. (unless I'm misunderstanding how JL rates their amps)

Since you already have the 500/1, go ahead and hook it up and see how it sounds (just don't go through any major installation of that amp yet until you know you're going to keep it).

Word.... that is confirmation on what I was told regarding the setup and ohm load. Thank You

I suppose I will try to drive them with the small amp I have now unless I stumble onto a deal for the larger one.

Cliffs CRIDDA? I don't want to spend time learning this stuff, I just want it to work right. Do I have enough power or not?

yes you have enough power(you could run more as those speakers are rated for more) and you should run the wires parallel. This is how my 3 jl 10w3v2 are ran and it sounds great.

Had to do some fab on the **** box from Wicked CAS. The outer ring that fits around the outside of the sub mounting ring was not concentric to the inner rings of the sub, so they would fit in the box, but not sit flush on the mounting surface. What a PITA !!!!!

I basically turned the entire car white with dust from the dremel. Clean-up took forever. I should have the final sub on monday and after install I will be able to eval how it sounds and let you know on the amp. Trade for the volk's

Wired up the two subs I have right now and both are working fine. The bass hits hard even now with the open hole in the box for the third sub. The last sub should be devilered to me on monday and I hope to have it installed that evening.

I will have some pics and a fnal update when everything is wrapped up.

Yeah those subs hit pretty hard. Glad this is going better now. Good luck with everything else Chris.
