Default HELPP!!! Viper 5901

hey im new 2 the sight and i need some help! I have an 05 Z convertible, auto tranny and im trying 2 install the viper 5901 in it. everything is connected right, but when i want 2 remote start it, the remote says REMOTE START ERROR and then the lights flash 8 times. the neutral safety is grounded and its programmed and i still dont know know what 2 do!! So can u guys please help THANX!!

I don't really have an answer to your question, but I will help others help you by posting from your model's manual what the 8 flashes mean......

8 flashes - Neutral safety wire has no ground or the neutral safety switch is off.

I know you said you double checked that your neutral safety was grounded, but maybe there is something else for you to check. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Make sure not only the NSS is grounded, but that the toggle switch (if supplied) is plugged in and turned on. On some of the newer models you HAVE to plug the toggle switch in (unlike older models where it wasn't required).

+1, had me scratching my head for a good hour before I realized that it wasn't plugged in.(Most other DEI products have switches with bare wire ends that aren't used when the NSS wire is just grounded, instead of this unit coming with a plug)
