Anyone install a Scytek ASTRA alarm in a 2003 350Z?
Hello,
Hi Guys,
I just got the ASTRA 777 2-way paging alarm system for Christmas 2009.
My Plans are that I will be installing in the Spring of 2010.
I believe that I have most of the wiring codes for the BCM ports and color codes from the alarm postings here.
Does anyone have personal experience with the ASTRA 777 alarm?
Seems like it will suffice for my alarm needs. I have installed a few alarms before with success. I wonder what kinds of snags I might run into, like wiring into the door panels and wiring into the BCM ports.
Also when it says "Wire into port 60 of the BCM", does that mean that you splice then solder your alarm wire into the wire that runs into port 60 on the BMC?
Thanks in advance for any tips and tricks on installing this.
Thanks,
George

Hello,
That's what I am here for to get the knowledge, and that's why I posted the question.
I already have the tools and the experience.
Sorry, this is my first BCM-equipped car.
Lots of people have heard of Scytek, that's who makes this particular alarm.
Good people have been misled for years into thinking they must spend hundreds of US Dollars on the base system for a good alarm, and that myth has gone on for long enough.
If I wanted to spend $400, I would have just paid to have somebody else to install it as well.
What fun would that be?
I am looking for a specific answer here only.
Thanks,
George
