Default Improving audio... need suggestions

Well I've been thinking about improving the sound system of my z. So i was gonna buy speakers for it because i though it had the stock clarion speakers... but i wasn't sure(past owner said he didn't have an audio system). So i removed the door panel and rear panels to be sure and i found different speakers.

These Kenwood KFC-X172 were also installed in the front doors using stock spacers, tweeter seem to be the stock ones...

So this is what i got so far:

Kenwood KFC-X172 3ohm x4 (front & rear) powered by stock HU
Zenclosure box with 2 10" Elemental Designs 11kv.2 DVC 4OHM(300W each)
Amp: American Legacy LA560 2chan 800W ( currently powering both subs)
Metra kit for either single or double din with harness.

What i'm planning to buy:

My brother offered me a 4chan amp that he hasn't used for awhile to power front and rear speaker

Phoenix Gold Tantrum 400.4
He wants $100 for it. Is this amp still worth $100?

Will i need a distribution block to install another amp? I'm currently using 8 gauge power cable but i will buy 4 gauge cables for the sub's amp, block and use the 8 gauge to power the tantrum amp.

I have alot of 16 gauge speaker wire that came with a wiring kit... is it ok to use this instead of a bigger 12 gauge?

I also need a headunit but im still thinking on whether to buy a decent alpine single din or a kenwood double din like the DDX 512. I wanna keep it under $300 for the headunit so i will probably have to buy a used kenwood if i decide to buy a ddx.

I noticed that almost half the front speaker grilles are covered by the plastic and might block some sound. Would it be a good idea to make holes for it?

Well this is what im planning to do.. would like some suggestions or help to make sure i'm doing it right as i have poor experience with audio. I ony wanted to improve abit over stock sound. So i'm hoping doing all this will make it sound much better (if not at least better) than that, what do you guys think?

Sounds like a good price.

8 gauge cable is good for 70 amps worth of current - 840 watts worth of power.

That will work just fine.

It will block some of the mid-range but so will your legs. There are pods that are designed to mount on-top of the stock speaker area.
