Default sound processing on pioneer z3 good enough or get a stand alone unit?

Just a simple question. I'm going to be keeping my pioneer z3 for my current system build and was looking into getting an audio control dqs as a stand alone sound processor. How good is the sound processing on the z3 when compared to a good stand alone unit? I realize that the dqs will give me more control but I just dont want to be wasting my money if the difference will be only slight. The system build is going to be simple with 2 da d6 10's and either focal k2p 6.5's or ads 346 6.5's going in cas pods ( still at a toss up over the focals or ads, I have both but I'm still undecided ) What other processors should I be considering if a stand alone is the way to go?

Alpine has a new PXE-H660 out now, I have the 650 and love it. Some have said they have issues with it but I haven't had any issues. All the digital audio tuning it allows you to do is great. The new one is said to fix a lot of the issues people were having with mine.
