USA Spec PA15-NIS - compatible with 2003 Bose stereo?

Default USA Spec PA15-NIS - compatible with 2003 Bose stereo?
Does anyone know if the USA Spec PA15-NIS is compatible with the 2003 Bose stereo? The USA Spec website says it's only compatible with 2004-2008, which seems weird:

Also, will I still have the functionality of my cd player after this is installed?

I have a 03 with the USA Spec unit and yes it works.
You can play your regular cds are well by pressing the "CD6" button to switch between cd and aux
