Has anyone ever mounted a head unit in the Nav compartment. If so could you please post pics so I can plan out my system. Thank you in advance.

I thought about doing that at one point and having it motorized so the HU would move forward when the door opened. I don't think there is enough space for it to work, but you could be the first!

That is exactly what I wanted to do with mine when I get my roadster. But when you look at it it looks like there is plenty room. It would be sweet if the lid would open and the moniter comes out when I start the car.

There isn't enough depth. When you take everything apart, you'll find that behind the back wall of that cubbyhole is metal/plastic. Its not like the headunit area, that has more space behind it.

Nice idea, but that cubbyhole area is too shallow to even hold CDs.

Jeffrox put a head unit in his nav spot and it was an incredible amount of work and he has had some air conditioning issues since then as you have to remove one of the filters and cut through a metal wall. What I did was put a HU in glove box with an IR repeater in nav spot for use with remote controller. It works great and there was enough room for a center channel speaker in nav spot for surround sound.
