Kenwood DNX 5240BT
Hello. Recently i purchased a double Din Kenwood DNX 5240BT. Anyone knows what adapters i need to run it smoothly ? I also want to keep my steering wheel controls active. My car is a 350Z 06+ Bose. I want to upgrate the Headunit only and keep the rest sound system stock.. Thanx in advance
Masrotas, I am considering doing the same thing. I am not looking for an audio upgrade the Bose is just fine for me but I would like to upgrade the HU for bluetooth and MP3 capabilities. I think there is a potential problem with using the Bose speakers because they run different ohms if I have understood correctly. Not sure what problem this causes, blown speakers, distortion etc. They do sell an aftermarket line converter for use when changing the HU and keeping stock Bose speakers and amp but I'm not sure how they work. Hopefully someone with knowledge in this area will reply to our post.
Yeah, I beleive Westinz is correct in that the Bose speakers are 2 ohm and your new head unit is 4 ohm. I wasnt' aware you ware running the Bose system. Just my 2 cents, but I think Bose is overated and you can do much better installing upgraded speakers with you new HU. I have a similar Kenwood double din HU with Kenwood amp and FOCAL speakers, componets in the doors and full range in the rear, no sub. Upgrade with new speakers.
After some research i found out that you need the adaptor PAC ROEM-NIS2. Without this the amp for Bose System will not work and our speakers will not perform good. Westinz and arsey you are both right. Well i agree about Bose performance, its probably overated. But for now i want to keep the budget low. I swap the HU for MP3,Bluetooth and some other capabilities like Westinz. Dunno a lot about ohms :P. If i am not happy i ll upgrade speakers and amp. Also i find PAC SWI-JACK adapter to keep my steering wheel controls active after the swap. Just need some expert's opinion to verify it.. thanx for your concern guys
