i tried testing out my camera today and i ran into issues...

1. The camera works when I turn the setting for the rear camera polarity on the HU to OFF (as in I dont have a rear signal connected) and I manually switch the input to Audio/Video IN.

2. When I switch the rear camera polarity to Battery (as in accept a rear signal when it is positive), the HU switches to the Audio/Video IN when I placed the gear in reverse...BUT NO video appears...just a blank screen (with a "Caution images may be reversed" message)

I checked the wires...I am giving the rear camera and the rear camera wire on the HU (the violet/white wire), the light green wire which is currently going into the rear taillight (the reverse lights).

any options guys???...thanks...

 

you have all your connections right?? Also, make sure you have all the wires you need.


To me it just sounds like you have something wrong on the connection section. Or try reseting the head unit( some times a restart from the beginning helps)

 

figured it out...I placed the rear camera's output into the AUDIO/VIDEO input of the HU...however...the head unit has a dedicated input for the rear view camera's output...thanks anyways...
