The stock HU is pathetic! It's a double din with 4-6.5" and 2 tweeters, Also need sub options without taking up rear seating area.
What I would like from the system is
- iPod w/ controls
- video for rear camera (camera ideas needed)
- bluetooth
- MP3
- USB (front) (not required but would be nice)
Also, where (local) is a good place to get this done/installed? Any freelance installers need work?

The Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD looks promising, they also have a backup camera, but wouldn't any camera work or does it have to be Pioneer compatible?
Also I found that the speakers in the doors are 6x8 (x4)
I prob answer my own questions here, but input is def needed for an amp and speakers, as well as the sub issue.

i have that headunit in my Z. i like it a lot! would recommend it. I'm not sure about if the camera must be Pioneer specific or not,I can try and dig up the literature that came with the unit. I'd put it in for you if i was local, it wasn't a bad install at all.

^^ would be nice if it had the bluetooth cable with it
OK, I just visited a few local installers (go ho & some place just off of South Lynnhaven) and both charge the following
Pioneer AVH-P3300BT - $530 installed (includes harness, and antenna adapter)
4-6x8 pioneer speakers w/ 2 tweets - $300 (go ho) $400 (other)
Rear view camera - $220 installed
no sub
I've found the online price for the HU is $360, and most pioneer speakers go for less than $50/pair. The camera goes for anywhere from $100 - $200. Now I know I'll need the harness ($15) so all this comes to about $600 if bought it all online myself.
Why such a high install charge? I'm guessing this install will take less than a few hours to do... They do offer the lifetime warranty, but $500?? Am I being unrealistic? One installer said that if I buy the HU online pioneer will not honor the warranty, is that true? What would be a fair price for such a system?
