Thumbs up Project Zmac

Hi all,

recently I've been doing some research on the carputer systems and what hardware and software needed. decided to go with mac since I've been using mac for ages now "have one of those mac disk top computers with floppy drive". Anyway I thought about the iPad but it has a lot of limitation compared to a mac mini and a used mac mini is way cheeper. So for the power supply or technically DC to DC regulator it's the Carnetix p1900. Display lilliput 7" open frame HDMI/DVI. I didn't go wild with the sound/headunit which is a double din Pioneer FH-P8000BT and a 3.5 audio connector which will be connected to the headunit from the bake to keep it clean.

So guys if you have any suggestions or ideas please join in.
please remember that I'm a budget builder and I'm DIYing this so hopefully it would help others.

Issue found The driver with the lilliput screen never works with the mac "IT WILL CRASH YOUR OS". This is the driver site http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eg/Touch_Drives.html
this is for Mac/Windows/Linux.
enjoy.

By the way if anyone is interested in getting these parts go to mp3car their customer service is perfect, got the shipment before the expected time. cool stuff. As for the headunit I went with Sonic Electronix since they have a "free installation kit" with the headunit Let's see how good are they.

Thumbs up

finally got it done.
It was fun but takes a lot of time an it's not a "stupid prof" DIY.
I did cut the touch cable. So I recommend not buying a frameless screen.
fitment is just perfect.
love the way it works.
check the pic out and tell me what do you think this it the first time I make something like that and it's my first time installing a headunit.
thanks for following my thread.
