I have some Alpine front speakers. 6.5 Type X Pro series. I am getting a rattle from one of the fronts. Rattle is worse over rough road and is there even with the music down/off. I have tightened everything and all looks fine. Took off the grills and if I push down on the speaker slightly, the rattle goes away.

I guess my question is: If a speaker is blown, could it rattle even if the music is off? ie. going over rough road.

if the speaker is not playing music
if the connections are tight and correct

take speaker out and hook it up to a meter set on ohms see if you get a reading on the voice coils
